CANTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Canton police arrested a 17-year-old in connection to a fatal shooting.

The shooting happened on Wednesday, April 10 in the 900 block of South Liberty Street.

Canton Police Chief Otha Brown said Raul Jones, Jr., 19, was shot multiple times at the location.

Police arrested Tazavier Elder, 17, in connection to the case and charged him with murder. He’s being held in the Madison County Detention Center until his initial appearance in court.

Brown said a motive for the shooting has not been established.
