ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Adams County deputies arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed another at an apartment complex.

The incident happened at Riverwood Manor Apartments on Sunday, April 14.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said the sheriff’s office received a call from Merit Health in reference to a victim with a stab wound to his chest. The victim, who was identified as Keith Matthews, is in critical condition and was airlifted to another hospital.

Deputies determined the stabbing took place at the apartment complex early Sunday morning. Patten said they detained Jariod Lamar Hauer, 30. After investigators interviewed Hauer, they said they found the knife inside his apartment.

Hauer has been charged with aggravated domestic violence.
