MCCOMB, Miss. (WJTV) – McComb police are searching for two suspects after a man was shot during an attempted carjacking.
McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy said the shooting happened around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 in the 800 block of Wall Street.
According to Cloy, 65-year-old Kenny Chester was shot once in the bicep at his home when two men attempted to steal his Kia Soul.
The police chief said officers encountered the suspects several minutes later in the 1000 block of Herington Street attempting to steal another Kia. He said the suspects ran away and were not apprehended.
Cloy said Chester was treated and released.
The police chief said certain Kia and Hyundai models from 2011 to 2020 are being targeted.
