JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A charge has been downgraded for a second teenager accused of killing a 14-year-old in Jackson.

According to court documents, Maxle Mooneyham, 16, has been charged with tampering with evidence/obstruction of justice. He was previously charged with murder.

Mooneyham’s bond has been set at $100,000.

A charge was also downgraded for Siyaski Crawford, 15, during his court appearance on Tuesday, April 23. The judge said the state failed to meet the burden on murder. Crawford’s charge was downgraded from murder to accessory after the fact to murder.

Crawford’s bond was set at $75,000. The court also ordered Crawford’s curfew would be at 6:00 p.m., and he was ordered to attend school.

John Foote, 17, was charged with murder in connection to the case, and he was denied bond.

Jackson police said Cameron Horne-Crook, 14, was shot and killed in the 3500 block of Ridgecrest Drive on Monday, March 25. He was shot multiple times.

Authorities said Crawford admitted to detectives that he and Mooneyham took Horne-Crook’s body out of the vehicle after he was shot in the back seat of a car.

On Tuesday, Rankin County authorities said Horne-Crook’s brother, 20-year-old Bryson Horne, was killed during a shooting in the 300 block of North Grove Circle in the Reservoir area.
