MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The developer behind a proposed gas station near Lake Caroline has withdrawn plans to allow Madison County to determine the zoning classification on the property.

The Madison County Journal reported Mark Jordan, with Lake Caroline, Inc., called for an informational meeting in a letter to talk about a future vision for the location.

Residents told WJTV 12 News that they were against the proposed Stribling Market gas station at the entrance of Lake Caroline on Stribling Road. They believe traffic would be worse in the area.

The informational meeting has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on May 13 at The Mermaid Café, according to the letter.
