JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (April 26-28) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

The Magic Flute – Jackson – Friday

  • The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the world’s most famous musical stage productions.

Candlelight – Jackson – Friday

  • Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in Jackson.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Live at Five – Natchez – Friday

  • Live at Five is a free, family-friendly biannual concert series held in the spring and fall at the Bandstand overlooking the Mississippi River.

Mask Off: Truths Revealed – Jackson – Friday

  • The JSU African Drum and Dance Ensemble invites you to their annual Spring Performance. The concert is free and open to the public!

Natchez Trace Festival – Kosciusko – Friday and Saturday

  • This will be a day of shopping, food, and entertainment.

Brandon Jubilee Days – Brandon – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The family-friendly festival will include a midway carnival, the Jubilee Artist’s Market, the Jubilee Juke 5K Trail Run and special musical guest Travis Tritt.

Vintage Market Days of Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The market will feature original art, antiques, home décor, clothing, handmade treasures, jewelry, outdoor furnishings, consumable yummies, seasonal plantings and a little more.

Spring Pilgrimage – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Historic Homes of Natchez will host tours until April 28, 2024.

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

Shakespeare in the Park – Jackson – Saturday and Sunday

  • Mississippi Shakespeare Festival in association with the Clinton Brick Street Players presents William Shakespeare’s comedy “Much Ado About Nothing.”

Music for the Heart and Soul – Jackson – Saturday

  • It’s time to harmonize both melody and wellness at the free Music for the Heart and Soul: Be in Good Health Symposium and Gospel Choir Competition.

MSO Concert Vibrant Echoes – Jackson – Saturday

  • Valerie Coleman’s now-famous Umoja for woodwind quintet and her Red Clay and Mississippi Delta open an evening of music that all seems to have been written for Tougaloo College’s Woodworth Chapel.

Lynch Street Festival – Jackson – Saturday

  • The Lynch Street Cultural Arts Festival presents a free carnival-like setting that features a main stage on one end of Lynch Street and vendors selling food, books, t-shirts and other goods along the sidewalks of the streets.

Day Rave – Jackson – Saturday

  • An all-ages, family-friendly “rave” event – an electrifying experience filled with groovy and bouncy electronic dance music spun by top DJs from Jackson.

Islamic Heritage Month Festival – Jackson – Saturday

  • This is a community event where everyone can enjoy fun activities for families and children, ethnic food, music, cultural presentations, art demonstrations, and more!

Metro Master Gardeners’ Annual Plant Sale – Jackson – Saturday

  • The Master Gardeners have propagated a variety of native and naturalized heirloom plants, perennials, shrubs and trees that are perfectly suited to our southern soils and climate.

The Pinknic MS Edition – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • Get ready for a luxury picnic experience for the first time in Mississippi!

Wing Competition – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • This year’s competition is heating up!

Music on the Green – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • Bring a blanket or a chair and get ready for some fun!

Pearl Day – Pearl – Saturday

  • The headlining performer is Country artist Ashley McBryde. Rhett Akins will also perform.

Pearl Day in The Park BBQ Cook-Off – Pearl – Saturday

  • Compete for your chance to win prize money for the top three in four mouthwatering categories: pork ribs, pork loin, chicken wings and BBQ sauce.

  • There will be food, music, games and more!

Inaugural Vicksburg Pickleball Open Tournament – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • The first ever Vicksburg Pickleball Open Tournament will be at Halls Ferry Park. This event will be sanctioned by the Southern Pickleball Association.

Old Courthouse Museum Spring Flea Market – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • The flea market will feature arts & crafts and food booths.

Bluff City Open – Natchez – Saturday

  • The second PDGA event at Duncan Park, the newest disc golf course in Natchez, Mississippi!

Dancing on the River – Natchez – Saturday

  • Come listen and dance to music from the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s presented by Chip Herrington and the Mobile Big Band Society. Hear the music of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Woody Hermann, and many others.

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

  • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

Points & Pints Foam Ball Tennis League – Jackson – Sunday

  • This league is all about having fun with friends of all levels and abilities. 

Pine Belt:

Farm to Fork Crit – Hattiesburg – Friday

  • Participants can choose to ride 62, 48, or 32 miles. This event raises the much-needed funds that allow Extra Table to continue buying healthy, shelf stable food that is delivered monthly for free to 62 food pantries and soup kitchen partners across the state. 

Repertory Dance Company Spring Concert – Hattiesburg – Friday and Saturday

  • Each dance concert features uniquely choreographed works for the concert stage that showcase technique and performance in different genres.

Into the Woods – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The late Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical bringing together familiar fairy tale characters is one of his most enduring and beloved works. 

New Exhibit at Hattiesburg Pocket Museum – Hattiesburg – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum has a new exhibit every month, so be sure to head downtown for a small surprise!

Farm to Fork Ride or Run – Hattiesburg – Saturday

Fairy Tea Party – Hattiesburg – Saturday
