JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said the shooting that killed two people in 2600 block of Belvedere Drive is now being investigated as a double homicide.

Detective Tommie Brown said through further investigation, the case is being investigated as a double homicide instead of a murder-suicide. He said detectives have identified a person of interest in the case.

The fatal shooting happened on Saturday, April 20. The Hinds County coroner identified the two victims as 43-year-old Martin Maas Pap and 26-year-old Soraya Padilla Castillo.
