HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A third suspect has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting at a Utica club.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said Anthony Brown, 48, was arrested on Monday evening. He was charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault following his release from medical treatment at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).

Jones said Anthony Brown was shot multiple times during the incident.

The shooting happened just before midnight on Sunday, April 28 outside the Sugar Shack Club in the 1000 block of Lee Davis Circle.

According to Jones, 41-year-old Jason Harris was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

The sheriff said four others, including Anthony Brown, were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment by private vehicles. The three other victims were identified as 53-year-old Michael Brown, 29-year-old Deidra Williams, and 22-year-old Lorenzo Cooper.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation involving the deceased and three other individuals. According to the sheriff, investigators believe the individuals know each other.

Jones said Eric Dixon, 42, and Joseph Crum, 34, were previously arrested and charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault. The sheriff said Dickson is the brother of Harris, who was killed in the shooting.

Investigators recovered a handgun and a revolver at the scene, as well as 23 shell casings. Jones said additional arrests and charges are possible in this case.
