CLEVELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – An 18-year-old student was arrested for allegedly stabbing another student at a Mississippi high school.
The incident occurred just after 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30 on the Cleveland Central High School campus.
Cleveland Police Chief Dudley Tribble said a student, who was identified as 18-year-old Jamarion Dumas, was detained by school resource officers and other school district administrators.
After an investigation, Dumas was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated assault.
Tribble said Dumas was transported and booked at the Cleveland Police Department. During his initial appearance, Dumas’ bond was set at $100,000.
The case will be turned over to the Bolivar County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
