JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The teenager charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of a 14-year-old in Jackson appeared in court for his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, April 30.

John Foote, 17, has been charged as an adult for the shooting death of Cameron Horne-Crook. During the hearing on Tuesday, Foote was once again denied bond.

Jackson police said Horne-Crook was shot and killed in the 3500 block of Ridgecrest Drive on March 25. He was shot multiple times.

Maxle Mooneyham, 16, and Siyaski Crawford, 15, were also arrested in connection to the fatal shooting. Mooneyham was charged with tampering with evidence/obstruction of justice, and Crawford was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Authorities said Crawford admitted to detectives that he and Mooneyham took Horne-Crook’s body out of the vehicle after he was shot in the back seat of a car.

Rankin County authorities said Horne-Crook’s brother, 20-year-old Bryson Horne, was killed during a shooting in the 300 block of North Grove Circle in the Reservoir area on April 23.
