JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – One juvenile has died and two others were injured after Jackson police said they were in a crash involving a stolen vehicle.
Detective Tommie Brown said officers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 in the 1600 block of Dorgan Street. The stolen vehicle was a brown Kia SUV.
According to Brown, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Benwood Drive around 11:00 a.m. regarding a crash involving the stolen vehicle. When officers arrived at the location, they found three male juveniles lying on the ground near the SUV.
The three juveniles were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Two of the juveniles were hospitalized, and the third died from his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
