Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

• The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Pepsi Pops – Ridgeland – Friday

• The 43rd annual Pepsi Pops closes out MSO’s Season of Fresh Voices with some of the freshest in town — the Mississippi Youth Symphony Orchestra, this year celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Nature Explorers – Clinton – Friday

• Elementary-aged children use science, art, & other hands-on learning methods to explore the natural world.

Live at 5 – Natchez – Friday

• Live at Five is a free, family-friendly biannual concert series held in the spring and fall at the Bandstand overlooking the Mississippi River.

A Caribbean Fantasy – Natchez – Friday

• KAISO! is a Caribbean jazz quintet who perform at festivals, universities, casinos, nightclubs, and formal concerts. They have a unique way of turning jazz standards into Caribbean tunes unlike any other.

Ruben Torres Llorca Exhibit – Natchez – Friday and Saturday

• The series of events kicks off with an opening, a viewing of selected works and an informal meet and greet with the artist on Friday, May 10.

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

Natchez Spring Carnival – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Mississippi Makers Fest – Jackson – Saturday

• The 2024 Mississippi Makers Fest will be a day-long celebration of the state’s rich and diverse music and art!

Marine Discovery Day – Jackson – Saturday

• MDWF’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, along with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and other coastal agencies and organizations, will host fun and informative activities and demonstrations about Mississippi’s coastal resources, the seafood industry, and fishing.
