Central Mississippi:

LeFleur’s Bluff State Park Family Campout – Jackson – Friday

  • The Mississippi State Parks team is inviting families to join them for a fun-filled campout. Registration is required.

Food Truck Friday – Jackson – Friday

  • This will be a multi-vendor event that will allow the food truck community to come together and provide good food and a great customer experience for the businesses and employees in the Greater Downtown Area.

Film Screening: WZZQ The Movie – Jackson – Friday

  • MPB’s free preview of the new “WZZQ The Movie” documentary includes full screening of the film, reception, and a Q&A with filmmakers, WZZQ staff and listeners.

OffBeat 10 Year Anniversary – Jackson – Friday

  • OffBeat will hold a special event to celebrate its 10 year anniversary.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Friday Nights at Milepost 89 – Clinton – Friday

  • The May 17 music offering will feature “Black Rose Acoustic” with a focus on traditional country, bluegrass, and gospel music.

Mississippi Braves – Pearl – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The M-Braves will face Biloxi at Trustmark Park.

Fertile Ground Two Year Birthday Week – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

  • Fertile Ground is celebrating its anniversary during American Craft Beer Week.

  • On Friday, enjoy the movie lounge, and on Saturday, there will be Exploradora Coffee Tasting.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

  • Sista Strut aims to heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, as well as provide information on community resources.

Hair Luxury Birthday Pop Up Expo – Jackson – Saturday

  • The event showcases small local vendors from in and around Jackson. Look for food trucks, clothing, and beauty vendors.

  • The event supports local charitable organizations that bring awareness to women’s missions to better serve the African American community.

  • The Art Series program invites all neighbors and friends to experience the enchanting magic of Shakespeare right down the street!

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Swap & Shop – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • Newbies, amateurs, collectors, seasoned gardeners and happy spectators are all welcomed.

State Games of Mississippi Pickleball Tournament – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • Men’s & Women’s Singles will begin after the completion of the Men’s and Women’s Doubles. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams for each event in each age division.

Riviera Day Club Pool Party – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • The party will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Mulberry Vicksburg.

McRaven Tour Home Ghost Investigation – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • During this event, you will learn about the house and family history during the haunted tour. After the tour, you will get to know the rest of the guests and investigators as you enjoy refreshments during a Q&A session.

  • The Farmers’ Market Lot will be on the corner of Jackson and Washington Street. This is a Mississippi Certified Farmers’ Market.

Everlasting Journey: The Music of Journey – Natchez – Saturday

  • During this event, a cast of incredible rock singers and instrumentalists join together to celebrate the iconic rock group Journey and their more than 50 years of global musical stardom.

Green Ribbon Run 5K – Natchez – Saturday

  • The proceeds from this 5K race will benefit our endeavors of mental health support, suicide prevention, scholarships, and awareness of youth LGBTQ+ mental health.

Gayrage Sale – Natchez – Saturday

  • The warehouse across from Smoot’s Grocery is full of household items, furniture, decor, DIY-project potential material and clothing!

Pickleball and Tennis Tournament – Natchez – Saturday

  • This event will have both a pickleball tournament and a tennis tournament with a women’s and men’s doubles division.

Screening of Rosenwald – Jackson – Sunday

  • Directed by Aviva Kempner, this documentary tells the story of Julius Rosenwald, a Jewish businessman and philanthropist who worked with African American communities to build schools in the Jim Crow South.

Animal Track Identification Workshop – Jackson – Sunday

  • The workshop is for Master Naturalists and anyone interested in learning how to identify animal tracks in the wild.
