JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting on Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson.
Detective Tommie Brown announced Jeremiah Hampton was in custody as of Tuesday, May 28.
The shooting happened in the 5700 block of Medgar Evers Boulevard before 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22.
Jackson police said two people were fighting at the location and shots were fired. One man died at the scene. He was identified as 39-year-old Juan Taylor.
Hampton made his initial appearance in court on Wednesday, May 29. He was denied bond.
