MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – A driver was killed during a crash on Interstate 55 in Madison.

The crash happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3 on I-55 northbound near mile marker 109.

Madison police said a Honda Accord left the roadway, entered the median, struck a concrete barrier and overturned. They said the driver was ejected during the crash and died at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Madison police identified the driver as 51-year-old Ira D. Fuquay, of Canton.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Madison Police Department Traffic Division.
