JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Authorities are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by a train in Jackson.

The incident happened on the train tracks near Livingston Road on Friday, June 7.

According to Detective Tommie Brown, an unidentified woman was lying down on railroad tracks before she was hit by the train around 10:00 a.m.

The victim died at the scene.
