LORANGER, La. (WGNO) — An Amber Alert has been issued for two girls who were abducted after their mother was killed in Loranger on Thursday, June 13.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said 35-year-old Callie Brunett was found dead by her father on the floor of her bedroom inside her locked mobile home on North Cooper Road after having been reported missing by her parents 24 hours earlier. They had last spoken to her Tuesday morning.
According to the Louisiana State Police, her two children, 6-year-old Jalie and 4-year-old Erin, were abducted before 8 a.m.
Erin has brown hair and eyes, stands three feet tall and weighs about 32 pounds. Jalie has brown hair and blue eyes, stands four feet tall and weighs about 58 pounds. It’s unknown what type of clothing the girls were wearing at the time they were abducted.
Troopers said an unknown white man is wanted for questioning in connection to a domestic violence incident that ultimately resulted in Callie’s death. He’s believed to be driving her car, which is a black 2012 Chrysler 200 with Louisiana plate 859GML. The car is missing the hubcap on the back right tire and may have damage to the back of the car. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
“This time period is very crucial. We need to find these children,” the sheriff said.
