Three charged in Mississippi Dollar General robbery

CARROLL COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two men and one woman have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at a Mississippi Dollar General.

Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker said the robbery happened at the Dollar General in Blackhawk around 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21.

According to the sheriff, store employees inside and a customer who was outside in his car were all held at gunpoint as money, cigarettes, cell phones and other items were stolen. After the robbery, the two armed robbers were picked up by a getaway driver and headed towards Holmes County.

Walker said the suspects were followed into Holmes County and arrested by Durant police before they were turned over to Carroll County authorities. Deputies said the stolen items were recovered, and they also recovered loaded weapons from the suspects’ vehicle.

Keyshawn Barken, 23, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and William Haymon, 19, of Durant; were both arrested and booked into the Carroll County Correctional Facility. Amari Thomas, 20, of West, was arrested and booked into the Grenada County Jail.

All three suspects were charged with kidnapping. Barken and Haymon were both charged with kidnapping, and Haymon was also charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of a stolen weapon.

Authorities said all three suspects were denied bond.
