JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The woman accused of killing two people in a DUI crash in Jackson last year wants the court to throw out evidence about her alleged intoxication.

According to court documents, Jada Kelly’s lawyer wants to suppress the results of a breathalyzer test taken the day of the crash. Investigators said Kelly had a blood alcohol level of 0.18. The legal limit is 0.08.

Her lawyer said the test is unreliable and claimed Kelly was not properly informed of her right to refuse the test.

The crash happened around 3:00 a.m. on January 15, 2023, at the intersection of I-55 North Frontage Road and Canton Mart Road in Jackson.

Authorities said 46-year-old Azure Higgins and 43-year-old Valerie Lynch were killed in the crash.

Kelly has been charged with aggravated DUI.
