JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Jackson.

The incident occurred on Interstate 55 near Canton Mart Road on Tuesday, July 2.

Detective Tommie Brown said the pedestrian was treated for a head injury. He said the pedestrian is expected to be okay.

Investigators said the driver stopped after the pedestrian was hit, and no citation was issued.
