JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson firefighters responded to an apartment fire Wednesday morning.

The fire happened at Somerset Place Apartments on East County Line Road just before 2:45 a.m. on July 3, 2024.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Armon, eight apartment units were affected by the fire. Four of the units had major damage, and the bottom units received water damage.

“It was hectic. I mean, the fire it felt like… it was so hot I can’t even explain it. It was really hot and seeing it go up in flames, it was unexplainable for me. It’s some stuff you don’t want to see,” said one neighbor.

Armon said no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
