Third suspect arrested in shooting death of Jackson DJ

BYRAM, Miss. (WJTV) – A 19-year-old, who was wanted for the shooting death of a local DJ and another murder in North Jackson, was arrested in Byram.

Byram police said Martravious Douglas was arrested at Spring Lake Apartments on Wednesday, July 10. They said another occupant in the apartment was detained for questioning.

Douglas was wanted in Jackson on the charge of capital murder in connection to the death of Anthony Davis, 23.

According to investigators, Davis was shot and killed after suspects in two vehicles fired shots at one another near North State Street and Cedars of Lebanon Drive in January 2024. One of the vehicles involved, a black Chrysler 300, was recovered on Tuesday, January 30 at Autumn Place Apartments.

Jackson police previously arrested Malik Ray, 20, and Cortez George in connection to the case. They’re still searching for Aidan Mayes, 18, who’s also wanted for capital murder.

Investigators said Douglas was also wanted in connection to the shooting death of Roitavious Greenfield. Police said Greenfield was shot multiple times in the 5900 block of Lake Trace Circle shortly after midnight on Wednesday, July 3. He was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Investigators said Cameron Lee was previously arrested and charged with murder in connection to the death of Greenfield.
