JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The 19-year-old accused of killing a local DJ and another man in North Jackson appeared in court on Thursday, July 11.
Bond was denied for Martravious Douglas after he was arrested at Spring Lake Apartments in Byram on Wednesday, July 10.
Douglas was charged with capital murder in connection to the death of Anthony Davis, 23.
According to investigators, Davis was shot and killed after suspects in two vehicles fired shots at one another near North State Street and Cedars of Lebanon Drive in January 2024. One of the vehicles involved, a black Chrysler 300, was recovered on Tuesday, January 30 at Autumn Place Apartments.
Investigators said Douglas was also wanted in connection to the shooting death of Roitavious Greenfield. Police said Greenfield was shot multiple times in the 5900 block of Lake Trace Circle shortly after midnight on Wednesday, July 3. He was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
Investigators said the two recent homicides happened while Douglas was out on bond in connection to another homicide that occurred in 2022.
“I am aware that he did cut his ankle monitor off once he made the news. Mr. Douglas has been charged with two additional homicides other than the one that he’s out on capital murder for one homicide,” said Investigations Deputy Chief Sequerna Banks with the Jackson Police Department (JPD).
Jackson police said they’re still searching for 18-year-old Aidan Mayes in connection to the shooting death of Davis.
Anyone with information on Mayes’ whereabouts can contact JPD at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
