MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – A national group that recognizes the lives of fallen officers made a stop in Madison on Thursday.

Beyond the Call of Duty presented their “End of Watch: Ride to Remember” Rolling Memorial and honored fallen Officer Horren Randy Tyler. He served more than 27 years in law enforcement. Tyler died in the line of duty while responding to a standoff in Brandon on June 1, 2023.
“He was he was actually my shift supervisor many years ago whenever I worked patrol in Ridgeland. And he helped me become what I am today. And there’s not a week or a day that goes by that some of his words of encouragement and his management skills and leadership skills is something that we use every single day, and we’re able to pass on to the younger officers that are coming in. So, his legacy will forever live on,” said Robert Sanders, assistant police chief for the Madison Police Department.
Officials said Beyond the Call of Duty’s purpose is to ensure that no officer is forgotten and that their families know their loved one has not been forgotten.
