JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A fight between a man and his daughter’s boyfriend led to a shooting in South Jackson, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Alta Woods Boulevard on Sunday, July 28.

Detective Tommie Brown said the boyfriend, who has not been identified, shot the victim with a small caliber handgun. According to Brown, the bullet ricocheted and grazed the victim’s face.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Brown said the victim left the hospital to avoid contact with law enforcement, and no charges were filed.
