JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Ergon, a Mississippi oil company, is in the processing of expanding its headquarters in Flowood. The expansion will bring in an extra 200 jobs to the community.
Ergon was created 70 years ago and has expanded operations to serve customers around the globe. The $85 million expansion doubles the size of the existing headquarters.
Governor Tate Reeves (R-Miss.) said the story of Ergon is one of home-grown Mississippi success.
“This is a home grown company. This is a family and a company that represents the spirit of Mississippi entrepreneurship. Literally have over thousands and thousands and thousands of employees. And by building this extension on their headquarters, they are creating hundreds of HQ jobs,” stated Reeves. “These are jobs like accountants and engineers and others. They will continue to be able to provide for their families. This is the type of investments that will help lead more and more of our young people to stay in the state of Mississippi.”
Construction on the expansion is expected to be completed within a year.
