WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that killed one person and injured three others in Warren County.
The suspect, 18-year-old Tavon Cain, made his initial appearance in court on Tuesday, August 6. Cain was charged with first-degree murder and was denied bond by the judge.
The shooting occurred outside a home in the 100 block of Abraham Drive just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 4. Investigators said the shooting happened after Cain’s cell phone was allegedly stolen at a gas station.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said all of the victims are believed to be 18-years-old. Korey Sims died at the scene, and the three other victims were transported to a local hospital.
Pace said out of the three who were injured, the most serious injury appeared to be a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
