RIDGELAND, Miss. (WJTV) – Ridgeland police are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area.
Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers said the body was located by a surveyor just after 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7 off of Rice Road.
According to Myers, the body has been at the location for many weeks. The person, who is believed to be a male, has not been identified. The police chief said the person’s identity will be be released following a DNA analysis.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation’s (MBI) Crime Scene Unit, Reservoir police, Capitol police and Natchez Trace Park Rangers also responded to the scene.
