JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A couple was injured after being shot inside their vehicle at a Family Dollar store in Jackson.
The shooting happened at the Family Dollar on Medgar Evers Boulevard on Wednesday, August 7.
Detective Tommie Brown said a fight occurred between two couples at the location. He said two of the men involved are related and that the couples have been at odds with each other.
According to Brown, the first couple got out of their car while the second couple remained in their vehicle. He said the second couple hit the first couple’s car in a possible attempt to run them over.
Brown said the man from the first couple fired shots and injured the second couple, who were still in their vehicle. The victims are a 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman. They received non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made in this case. Brown said arrests and charges are possible if the second couple decides to pursue charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
