JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was found guilty in connection to a fatal shooting at a Jackson gas station.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Shydarius Williams was convicted of first-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of Marcus Moore.

Williams’ accomplice, Lashundra Bass, pled guilty to second-degree murder before her trial started in March 2024.

Police said Williams shot Moore in the back of the head as he sat inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Fuel Time gas station on Bullard Street on June 4, 2022. Moore died at the scene.

Investigators were able to identify Williams on surveillance video entering the victim’s car, sitting in the back seat and then exiting the vehicle with a firearm. Williams was 17 when the crime occurred.

Williams faces up to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). He will be sentenced on August 22 at 9:00 a.m.
