Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

• There will be live music, drinks and ice cream.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

• The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

“Postal Parasites” Premiere – Natchez – Friday

• With live music from Twurt Chamberlain, presentations from the Mississippi Film Office and the Mississippi Music Foundation, multiple short film screenings, and a filmmaker Q&A, it is guaranteed to be a night to remember!

Providence Hill’s Monthly Shoot – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

• Each month there is a signature shoot at Providence Hill for their members to determine the club champion. This includes Helice, Fitasc, and Sporting.

Dinosaurs Around the World – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

What Became of Dr. Smith – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• What Became of Dr. Smith, is a large-scale, panoramic narrative painting by contemporary artist Noah Saterstrom. The exhibition delves into the life of Saterstrom’s great-grandfather.

Nuestro Mississippi – Jackson – Saturday

• Join the Mississippi Humanities Council and the Immigrant Alliance for Justice & Equity of Mississippi for the opening of the special exhibition Nuestro Mississippi: A collection of photographs by photographer Rojelio Rodriguez, documenting Mississippi’s Hispanic community.

Joe Bonamassa – Jackson – Saturday

• Joe Bonamassa is one of today’s top live performers and this one-time-only “Blues Deluxe” tour is not to be missed!

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

• From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

• The event will be held at the Farmers’ Market Lot on the corner of Jackson and Washington Street.

Summer Chef Series – Vicksburg – Saturday

• This cooking demonstration will feature Geno Lee, Owner of The Big Apple Inn in Jackson, Mississippi.

Rollor on the River – Vicksburg – Saturday

• All proceeds benefit United Way. There will be door prizes, a cash bar, and a round robin.

• This event will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Vicksburg Public Library.

• Second Saturday is an opportunity for the community to shop downtown, listen to live music, learn from featured artists and artisans, and much more.

• The Southern Cultural Heritage Center presents a Country Western Dance. Dances will be led by the Mississippi Country Western Dancers’ Association.

Freedom Summer Events – Jackson – Sunday

• Sunday Screening: “An Ordinary Hero” with Joan Trumpauer Mulholland and her son, filmmaker Loki Mulholland.

Oyster Eating Contest – Jackson – Sunday

• Saltine is closing out the week of 10th-anniversary celebrations with an old-school oyster eating contest! Each contestant receives 50 oysters, and whoever finishes first will be crowned the winner.
