HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi man was arrested after another man died from injuries sustained during a bar fight, investigators said.

WXXV reported Robert Hammac, 53, was arrested on Monday, August 12 and charged with second-degree murder.

Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said deputies responded to K&R’s Bar on Highway 90 around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10 for a medical emergency. He said Hammac got into a fight with Stanley Garcia, 51, at the location.

Garcia was taken to a Louisiana hospital and later died from his injuries.

The sheriff said Hammac is being held in the Hancock County Jail until his initial appearance in court.
