12-year-old injured in Jackson shooting

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was shot while he was with his uncle.

The shooting happened in the capital city around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 25.

According to Detective Tommie Brown, the child was with his uncle, Kristen Walton, when he was shot once in his back. The suspect has not been identified.

Brown said Walton transported the 12-year-old to the child’s home and dropped him off without any explanation about what had taken place.
