PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (WJTV) – Philadelphia police arrested a man who allegedly shot 15 vehicles and injured three people last week.
Officers responded to Alford Avenue in the early morning hours of August 24. Investigators said the officers briefly searched the property of a home and recovered a handgun inside the bedroom of an individual.
Police said Jonathan Salvador, 31, of Mexico, was arrested and is believed to be in the country illegally.
During another search of the area, police said they recovered an AR-style rifle in the home where Salvador’s room was, as well as ammunition. They also recovered nearly 30 shell casings.
“Further investigation led to Salvador purchasing ammunition at a local gun dealer and also attempting to purchase an AR 15 days prior to these shootings. He was denied purchase of that weapon and only purchased the ammunition. We believe that he had intentions on carrying out more attacks throughout the city if he were allowed to purchase,” police said.
Salvador faces dozens of felony charges, including attempted murder. He is being held at the Winston-Choctaw Jail.
