TERRY, Miss. (WJTV) – Hinds County deputies arrested a man in connection to the shooting death of his wife.

The shooting happened in the 3500 block of Green Gable Road in Terry around 7:15 a.m. on Monday, August 26.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones identified the suspect as 67-year-old Tony Morris. The victim was identified as 64-year-old Kathleen Morris.

According to Jones, Kathleen Morris suffered at least one gunshot wound to her upper body.

“We did recover a handgun that we believe to be involved in the incident. And as of right now, we are in the preliminary stages of the investigation. The motive at this time is not quite clear, but we do look to get more information after he’s been questioned,” stated Jones.

According to Tony Morris’ brother, the couple was going through a divorce.
