MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Police said a six-year-old child, who was kidnapped in Louisiana, was found safe in Mississippi.
According to Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) alerted his department about a possible custodial kidnapping out of Louisiana.
Myers said a Ridgeland officer located a vehicle matching the description, and the officer waited for assistance from other units to prevent a chase.
The police chief said the Ridgeland officers, along with Madison police, were able to stop the vehicle. The child was found safe and has been reunited with his mother in Chalmette, Louisiana.

Investigators said the suspect, 38-year-old Jerson Alonzo Antunez, of Chalmette, Louisiana, was wanted out of St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Department for telephone communications harassment. He’s being held at the Madison County Detention Center and is awaiting extradition to St. Bernard Parish.
