STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One woman was killed and another was injured during a single-vehicle crash in Stone County.

The crash occurred on Highway 49 around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner was traveling north on the highway when the vehicle left the road and overturned.

The driver, 37-year-old Kristen Arendale, and the passenger, 34-year-old Jamie Lynn Sullivan, both of Brandon, were transported to a local hospital. Troopers said Sullivan later died from her injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
