JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – During the 2024 Labor Day Holiday Travel Period, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to seven fatal crashes with 15 deaths.
The fatal crashes occurred in Grenada, Warren, Stone, Wilkinson, Prentiss and Issaquena counties.
MHP’s 2024 Labor Day Holiday Travel Period began Friday, August 30 and concluded on Monday, September 2.
During the enforcement period, MHP also issued a total of 7,123 citations, made 122 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 740 drivers for occupant restraint violations. They responded to a total of 155 crashes resulting in 81 injuries and 15 deaths.
