MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Troopers arrested a Jackson man after he allegedly led them on a chase.
Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a trooper stopped a Dodge Challenger at the 107-mile marker just before 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5. The trooper stopped the driver for speeding and having no seatbelt.
After the trooper returned to his vehicle, officials said the driver threw the citation out the window and drove off. The trooper attempted to stop the driver for littering, but officials said the driver did not stop.
During the chase, MHP officials said the suspect sideswiped a Toyota Corolla. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

Troopers said the chase ended at the 102-mile marker on Interstate 55 South. The suspect, who was identified as 23-year-old Alontavious Sims, of Jackson, was arrested without incident. He was taken to the Madison County Detention Center. Officials said charges are still pending against Sims.
This incident is under investigation by MHP.
