VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – A bicyclist was injured after being hit by a truck in Vicksburg, according to the fire chief.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Washington Street and Johnson Street just after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6.

Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps said the 32-year-old male bicyclist was found lying in the street, suffering from a severe head injury.

The victim was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for treatment.

The incident is under investigation.
