MENDENHALL, Miss. (WJTV) – Simpson County deputies are investigating after they said a man was shot and killed as he entered his ex-girlfriend’s home.

Vicksburg Daily News reported the shooting occurred at a home in the 1400 block of Athens Road in Mendehall around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10.

According to Simpson County Sheriff Paul Mullins, the woman informed authorities that her ex-boyfriend, who was identified as Brian Stinson, had entered her home carrying a rifle. Mullins said another person was inside the home and shot Stinson.

Simpson County deputies, along with agents from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI), are investigating the shooting.
