PEARL, Miss. (WJTV) – Entergy Mississippi crews headed towards Florida on Wednesday, September 25 ahead of Hurricane Helene.

Helene is expected to intensify and impact Florida as a major Category 3 hurricane. Forecast models predict that the storm will make landfall somewhere in the Big Bend region of Florida or the Florida Panhandle.

Entergy Mississippi is sending 141 people, including tool workers, contractors and support personnel – to help Florida utilities restore power after the storm.

The crews gathered at Trustmark Park in Pearl on Wednesday before caravanning east.
