UPDATE:

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The family of Medgar and Myrlie Evers announced that Nicole Evers-Everette has been found safe.

“I am just so thankful that my Niki has been found safe. Thank you to God, law enforcement and all those who assisted in helping us locate Niki. I am eternally grateful and overwhelmed by the love and support shown during this difficult time,” said Reena Evers-Everette, Nicole’s mother. “I recognize that this outcome would not be possible without the incredible commitment of my family and the power of the media and social media. My deepest thanks to all who have shown up, spoken up and stood up, to help find my daughter.”

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The granddaughter of Medgar and Myrlie Evers has been reported missing.

The Evers family said Nichole Evers-Everette, also known as “Niki,” has been missing from her Duluth, Georgia, apartment since Sunday, September 22, 2024. She last spoke with her mother, Reena Evers-Everette, around 5:55 p.m. EDT.

“I am worried and terrified for my daughter, Niki. She has not reported to work this week, which  is highly unusual. We talk regularly, and it is also unusual for me to not be able to reach her. She  does not have her cell phone, purse, or other personal effects. However, her car was missing from her apartment complex and last seen on Keys Ferry Road and McCart Road in McDonough, Georgia, on Monday night. I am in constant prayer that she is safe and comes back to us soon. Timing is critical because Niki has a medical condition that requires medication, which she does not have,” said Reena Evers-Everette.

She said the family is working with law enforcement officials to try to locate Niki. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5700.
