JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed.

The incident occurred on I-55 South Frontage Road near Elton Road just before 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30.

Detective Tommie Brown said a 28-year-old man was walking on the road when he was struck by a black 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The unidentified pedestrian died at the scene. Brown said the driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene of the accident.
