Alabama man charged with robbing Flowood bank

FLOWOOD, Miss. (WJTV) – Flowood police announced an Alabama man was arrested in connection to a bank robbery.

Police said Jay Giles, of Birmingham, was arrested at 5:09 p.m. at a local hotel in Flowood. According to investigators, Giles was out on federal probation for a previous bank robbery.

Rankin County deputies and the FBI assisted in the arrest. Giles will be charged with armed robbery.


FLOWOOD, Miss. (WJTV) – Flowood police are searching for a man who robbed a bank.

The robbery occurred at Wells Fargo on Lakeland Drive just after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5.

Police said the suspect was wearing a ball cap and sunglasses. He approached the teller and threatened to harm her if she didn’t put money in his bag, authorities said. The man then left the bank.
