JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Three people were injured during a two-vehicle crash in Jones County.
The crash occurred near the 3700 block of Sharon Road just after 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 5.
When firefighters responded to the scene, they found a four-door Chevy sedan blocking the roadway and a four-door Toyota sedan down a small embankment off the side of the road.
Officials with the Jones County Fire Council said crews had to use hydraulic equipment to extricate the driver of the Chevy, who had sustained significant injuries. Two other individuals had minor to moderate injuries.

According to officials, the incident appeared to be an off-set head-one collision. A witness stated one of the vehicles drifted into oncoming traffic just before the crash.
Jones County deputies and the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) also responded to the scene.
