YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was killed and three others were injured during a two-vehicle crash in Yazoo County.

The crash occurred on U.S. 49 near Castle Chapel Road around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2015 Honda Accord collided head-on with a Chevrolet Suburban. The Chevrolet became engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Chevrolet and the two passengers were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Honda, 20-year-old Javiya Myles, of Bentonia, died at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
