CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Clinton leaders said Kids Towne Park was vandalized one year after the Parks and Recreation Department made improvements to enhance safety and play areas.
According to officials, one of the newly repaired bridges was damaged due to the “reckless actions” of an individual or a group.
In 2022, citizens voted to approve a 2% restaurant tax specifically to fund improvements in our city parks. With many exciting projects already underway thanks to these funds, it’s more important than ever to protect these spaces from harm.
Our parks are meant to be safe, welcoming environments for everyone to enjoy. We ask for your help in keeping them clean, beautiful, and free from vandalism. If you see any suspicious activity, report it to local authorities immediately. Any damage to park facilities can be reported directly to Courtney Nunn, Director of Parks and Recreation.
The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to maintaining and preserving our public spaces, but they can’t do it alone. Our parks belong to everyone, and it’s our responsibility to protect them.
