JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Montyne “Tina” Clay was sworn in on Friday as the newest member of the Jackson City Council.
Clay was elected to represent Jackson’s Ward 2 after former Jackson City Councilwoman Angelique Lee resigned.
Clay said she’s looking forward to hitting the ground running next week.
“Plan to start out Monday afternoon at the work session and Tuesday at my first meeting. And from there, I’ll be in the community working hard, seeing what we need in our community, let my constituents talk to me,” she said.
Clay said she’s thankful for the support she received Friday morning.
