MARION COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Marion County deputies are investigating after human remains were discovered in a wooded area.

Investigators said they received information on November 1 about a vehicle that was found in the Lampton community. They said the vehicle matched the description of the vehicle belonging to Delmar Lee Blake, Jr., who was reported missing in August 2023.

Authorities responded to the location and confirmed the vehicle was registered to Blake. They began to search the area and located human remains.

The remains have been sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for a positive identification. Investigators said the remains are believed to be those of Blake.

Deputies said there is no foul play suspected in the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
